AITA for calling my friends puritans for writing off Ali G?

Dinner with three mates and one of them says Ali G could never be made today because everyone's too soft. I told him that's the most boring sentence in comedy and to rewatch the interviews: the joke was always the interviewer being a moron, not the guest. He got up and left. He didn't argue back because he couldn't. I didn't say anything out of line.
