The tip screen is the worst part of paying for anything now

I drive a cab so tips are part of my day and I'm not mad at them. But a tablet asking for 25 percent before you've poured the coffee is the owner moving their wage bill onto you. Price the sandwich right. 🙂

Bhai "sirf ek option deta hai" wali baat full bakwas hai, cab app bhi wahi karta hai, pehle fare khud set karta hai phir tip maangta hai aur skip kiya toh rating aur agli rides pe silent asar padta hai. Toh ye coffee counter wala scam alag nahi hai, same playbook hai, bas tablet ki jagah phone hai aur owner apna wage bill tumpe daal raha hai

Handing you a cup is the last three seconds of a job that started two hours before you walked in, and that tip screen was set up by the owner, not the kid on the till. Aiming your rant at the one person in the shop with zero say in pricing is a coward's version of caring about workers

Cool, so if the owner set the screen and the kid doesn't see that 25 percent anyway, what exactly am I buying? And if the answer is "the owner's wage bill," why are you coming at me instead of the guy who programmed the prompt?

That "the kid doesn't see it" line is cope, tip pools at most of these counters get split across the staff on shift, so skipping it doesn't stick it to the owner, it just stiffs the person who actually made your coffee

That "25 percent to hand me a cup" line is pure clown logic, because the barista didn't build the tip screen, the owner did. You're dunking on the wrong person and giving the actual leech a free pass, and tech would fix this crap in five minutes if anyone stopped defending the guy skimming wages.
