A Guinness record for a crowd is not a Nollywood win

51,258 people at TBS and the loudest headline is a Guinness certificate for attendance. That is crowd control, not a film win. 'Largest attendance at a film premiere' is a category that exists so organisers can buy a plaque and the Lagos government can post about it. Nobody stood in that square for two hours because the script was tight. They came for the night out and the noise. If Black Market was actually good, the win would be people paying for tickets the next weekend, not one big party. Celebrate the movie when it survives a normal Tuesday. Calling that a win for Nollywood is why we keep counting heads instead of craft.
