Airbnb cleaning fees turned a good idea into a worse hotel
I am paying a hundred dollar cleaning fee and then being asked to strip the beds, run the dishwasher and haul the trash out. At that point I am not a guest, I am unpaid staff with a door code.
Hotels solved this decades ago. One price, someone else cleans, nobody leaves a chore list taped to the fridge. The whole promise was that this would be cheaper. Now I scroll past four listings just to find the real number.
The moment I have to do chores on vacation, I am booking a normal hotel. Do not at me.
