Nobody in this country cooks a real meal anymore and we call that progress

Back in my day you knew what was in the pot because you put it there. Now dinner shows up in a bag with a sticker on it and we call that eating. I am not against convenience. I am against a whole generation that cannot make rice without a machine talking to it. Sunday used to smell like onions. Now it smells like cardboard and delivery fees. Tell me I am wrong. I will be in the kitchen either way.

Every Money Advice List Is Written For People Who Already Have Money And I Am Tired Of Pretending Otherwise

Read the tips. Make coffee at home. Automate your savings. Max out the thing. Negotiate your salary. Every single one of them assumes you have a salary worth negotiating and a few hundred spare at the end of the month. I do not have a spending problem. I have a number problem. The number coming in is smaller than the number going out, and no spreadsheet has ever fixed that. The advice is not evil. It is just written from the other side of the hole, by someone standing on the shore yelling swim harder. My resolution this year is to stop reading those lists. It saves me nothing and it feels fantastic.
