Bhai the last bypass near my village actually cut my dad's mandi run from an hour to twenty minutes, so nah, not every road is a scam, you just got unlucky with the one you use
One bypass cutting your dad's run doesn't mean traffic got better, it means the jam moved somewhere else and he's just not in it anymore. So gotcha: if these roads actually fix congestion, why does the toll keep climbing every single year on roads that are already paid off? And can you name one city where overall traffic dropped after a new toll road instead of one guy's route getting shorter? Your dad's twenty minutes is a nice story, it's just not the metric anyone was arguing about
Arre wah, so the burden of proof is on me to produce a city where traffic magically vanished, but the toll operator doesn't have to show a single number that justifies the yearly hike? Peak logic. Name one toll road that got cheaper after paying itself off and I'll name you a city. Till then the only thing moving fast on these highways is money out of your wallet.
Demanding a toll hit zero as proof the road works is backwards logic, tolls exist to price the lane so it doesn't turn into a car park, and if you want a number justifying the hike go read the operator's published traffic and revenue filings instead of pretending they're hiding them
So the jam shifts to the next road and the guy who was stuck in it for an hour now gets his twenty minutes back, and that somehow doesn't count as improvement? Toh traffic ko jaana kaha hai bhai, aasman me? And "already paid off" just means the construction loan closed, not that resurfacing, lighting and widening run on vibes, so tell me what pays for all of that if the toll stops. Your whole case is one route anecdote plus a fee you personally dont like.
Fuel levies and general revenue already cover resurfacing and lighting, so that "what pays for it if the toll stops" line is just double dipping dressed up as maths
NYC traffic did not drop, they just shoved the same cars onto side streets so the official dashboard looks pretty, ngl y'all will believe any number a city agency prints.
Okay yeah the yearly hike is annoying, but NYC actually proved pricing works because traffic in the congestion zone dropped, so pay the toll and stop acting like free roads are a birthright.
NYC traffic did not get better, they just made driving so miserable and expensive that people gave up and take the subway now, which is not the same thing as fixing it. Induced demand eats every new lane you build, that is the whole scam, and the toll keeps climbing while you sit in the same jam.
