Karma Is Not A Law Of The Universe. It Is A Story We Tell So Randomness Hurts Less.
Bad things happen to good people constantly. Good things happen to awful people constantly. We simply notice the other pattern and give it a name. Karma is a bookkeeping system nobody has ever audited. You cannot observe it. You cannot measure it. It never arrives on schedule. Every time someone says karma got him, they mean they are pleased. Every time someone says her karma is coming, they mean they are angry. It is a feeling wearing the costume of physics. Here is the uncomfortable question. If you need the universe to punish the people who wronged you, is that morality or is it revenge with better branding? I think it is revenge, and I say that as someone who enjoys the feeling.
