Bhai TV pe you got bored after 20 channels and went out to play, this feed literally studies your brain and refuses to let you leave, so that comparison is full nonsense 🙄
Ah yes, the classic "TV rotted our brains too" argument, except the TV couldn't autoplay a thousand personalized clips at 2am in your bed. Sitting through ads and waiting for a slot is not the same as an algorithm whose whole job is keeping them scrolling, and pretending otherwise is how parents sleep at night.
If endless scroll is the problem, who built the endless scroll, the kid or the app? Because banning the kid while the feed keeps getting smarter sounds like losing to a product team and calling it parenting.
My nephew already does his homework on a school tablet, so the ban is basically a formality. He will just use his mum's login. Kids always find the side door.
Same here. My niece just uses her mum's login for the school portal anyway, the school one times out every ten minutes. Block the site and all that happens is the password gets passed around the group chat. Then nobody knows whose account did what.
Bhai my old coaching centre moved to device-locked SSO and the whole password-passing racket died in like a week, so this "kids always find the side door" line is just what folks say when they've never seen a ban enforced properly.
Side door hell, the login is the whole problem, mum hands over her account because the school tablet is dead by 8pm and now the kid has her bank app too
Bhai most kids never find the side door, they just quietly stop doing the homework and nobody notices till the exams, which is the actual damage you're all waving off.
Right, because "skill issue" is doing a lot of heavy lifting when the actual skill being taught is hiding a VPN from the person who pays for the wifi, which is a hell of a life lesson to hand a twelve year old.
Skill issue for who exactly, because if the kid is the one coming out of this with the skill, hasn't your ban just been a training program for beating you?
If a twelve year old can walk around your parental controls with a free VPN in under a minute, what have you actually bought besides a subscription and a false sense of being in charge? And if the ban only bites on kids whose parents are watching the router, is it protecting children or just sorting them by who has a locked front door and who does not?
