Nobody tells you this: a fuel spike is a price signal, not a moral event
When fuel gets expensive, the money does not disappear. It moves, to producers, to refiners, to people holding the right assets and the right skills. Feeling angry about the number at the pump does not change the number. Reading the number does. I am not telling anyone to enjoy it. I am telling you it is information, and information is tradeable.
