Touchscreens in cars made driving worse and they sold it to US as progress
I used to change the temperature without looking. Now I tap through two menus while doing seventy on the highway. That is not innovation, that is a tablet bolted to a dashboard. Somewhere a designer decided knobs looked old and everyone nodded. The result is a car that does less with more. Give me buttons. Give me a dial. Give me a radio that does not ask to install an update while I am merging. My old car with a cassette deck was easier to operate than the new one. That should embarrass an entire industry, and instead it is just the standard now.4
