Streaming Did Not Give Us More Movies, It Gave Us An Endless Shelf We Scroll Past
Streaming did not give US more movies. It gave US an endless shelf that we scroll past while something plays in the background and nobody admits they stopped watching twenty minutes in. I miss having nothing else to do. That was the whole trick. One screen, one tape, no second option. Now every movie is competing with my phone, and my phone is winning.2
