Am I the only one who thinks a phone free wedding is a little rude to the guests

Genuine question, asked gently. I understand wanting people present. I really do. But a lot of US booked a flight, paid for a hotel, bought an outfit we will never wear again, and then sat through a ceremony in a barn with no signal and a sign telling US to be in the moment. One photo of the cake is not a crime. Tell me where I am wrong and I will honestly think about it.
